FAQs

Get answers to common questions about our physical therapy and performance services in Pleasant Grove.

Do I need a referral to see a physical therapist at APEX?

No referral is needed. Utah is a direct access state, which means you can schedule an evaluation with us without seeing a doctor first. We're a cash-based clinic, so you can book directly and start your care right away.

What should I expect during my first visit?

Your first visit is the foundation for our treatment plan. We will perform a full assessment that includes a review of your current condition and medical history, numerous testing methods to identify the root cause of your symtoms, and discuss your goals. These visits most commonly last an hour.

How is APEX different from traditional physical therapy?

Every session you attend will be one-on-one; you and the physical therapist. You will never be passed off to another provider or a tech and you will always have the full attention of your physical therapist. To assist with your progression in physical therapy, we also use advanced technology like dynamometers and motion analysis software to help identify the source of your symptoms.

Do you take insurance?

No, we're a cash-based clinic. This allows us to spend more time with you, keep our scheduling flexible, and focus entirely on your care without the restrictions of insurance. We can provide a superbill if you'd like to submit to insurance for any Out-Of-Network benefits.

Can I keep exercising while I'm in physical therapy?

Absolutely. We don't believe in telling active people to stop training. Instead, we help you modify your workouts, address what's causing pain, and build back stronger so you can return to full activity safely and confidently.
